1. Can I install the Gold CD on more than one PC?
The Stand Alone agreement is for installation on only one PC. We would recommend that if more than one user requires access to the CD, that you network it. Networking Instructions can be found in your User Guide. If you are interested in Networking, please contact kompasshelpdesk@reedinfo.co.uk.
2. Can I network the Gold CD?
Yes, you can network the CD. There is a charge for networking which is dependent on the number of workstations and simultaneous users. If you are interested in Networking, please contact kompasshelpdesk@reedinfo.co.uk.
3. How do I install the Gold CD on a network?
Networking Instructions can be found in your User Guide, alternatively click here to download Gold CD Networking Instructions. If you require any assistance with setting up the Gold CD on a network, please contact kompasshelpdesk@reedinfo.co.uk.
4. Do I need a server to network the Gold CD?
No, it is possible to network the CD on a peer-to-peer network, using a workstation as a nominated server. We suggest you contact kompasshelpdesk@reedinfo.co.uk if you wish to carry out this type of setup.

Click here to download instructions on upgrading a networked version of the Gold CD. Please contact kompasshelpdesk@reedinfo.co.uk if you require any help with the installation.

Yes, but this is not something recommended, unless your network data capacity is high enough. We suggest you contact us on kompasshelpdesk@reedinfo.co.uk if you wish to carry out this type of setup.
7. What are sim users?
Sim users are simultaneous users, meaning they can access the CD at the same time.

Yes, all of the data stays on the CD, even if you choose "Copy to Hard Disk" when installing the stand alone CD. Unlocking the CD
- How do I unlock the Gold CD?
- Why do we need an unlock code?
- Why is the unlock code so long?
1. How do I unlock the Gold CD?
Once installed, the first time you access Kompass, it will display an unlock code. You can either call the Kompass Helpdesk on Tel: 01342 335866 or fax over the completed Unlock Form, which is supplied with the CD.
Make sure you included your company details, the unlock code (and any remaining credits if upgrading) and fax this to 01342 335671. We will then call or fax you back with a code which will give access to Kompass.
If you have setup a network version of the Gold CD, you need to run the admin.exe file, which can be found in the server files folder, in order to generate an unlock code.
2. Why do we need an unlock code?
To ensure we can provide our customers, with a complete support service, it is helpful for us to keep a record of when the CD is installed and by which company.
3. Why is the unlock code so long?
To ensure that we maintain a secure product for our users, this requires a detailed unlock code.
